Past Meetings - 1995

(All meetings were held at Allan & Lucy's near Penetanguishene unless otherwise noted.)


January 20-22:  Twelve trackers were given a demonstration of various aspects of spinning by a local woman.  Sweatlodge Saturday evening.  Discussion about prophecies and "last days".


February 18-19:  A group of Trackers attended the Elders Conference at Trent University in Peterborough, Ontario.


March 25-26:  Thirteen people participated in various activities.  Maple syrup making, cow horn rattles, long walks, and sweatlodge Saturday evening.


April 22-23:  Fifteen folks.  Advanced throwing sticks, bow drill practice, some made dreamcatchers, sweatlodge on Saturday evening.  A long walk on Sunday.  One person shared exercises from the recent Advanced Awareness Class at the Tracker School.


May 27-28:  Twenty-two folks attended.  The theme for the weekend was edible wild plants.  Georgina guided us on a collecting walk Saturday: wild leeks, coltsfoot, sorrel, dandelion, fiddleheads.  One person brought an arctic char which was cooked in the coals of the sweatlodge fire during the sweat by the "fire chief".


June 17-18:  This was a children's weekend, with 34 adults and children in attendance.   Various activities oriented towards children.  There was no sweatlodge this weekend.


July:  At Georgina's place.  About 10 people attended.  Saturday afternoon the group went for a hike on the Bruce Trail.  Sunrise sweatlodge Sunday morning.  Massage.


August:  At Hildegard's place.  Six folks were here this weekend.  Swimming and drumming.  Pipe ceremony.


September 23-24:  Seventeen people attended.  The theme for the weekend was traps.  Sweatlodge Saturday evening.


October 28-29:  Camping weekend at the Crown land camp near Parry Sound.  About 12 people attended.


November 25-26:  Twenty-two people.  On Saturday we built a new sweatlodge.  Sunday morning the group was led in a journey-style meditation.  Watched Enviroscapes Cable TV show (which featured 3 of the group).


December 16-17:  Twenty-eight people here.  We made pine needle baskets.  Two sweatlodges (male and female) Saturday evening.  On Sunday we held a giveaway.
